THE KNIFE THAT JYRKI FOUND |

In
the springtime 1999 Jyrki was wandering in the woods at Hökensås
(The Hawk´s Ridge) not far from Hjo, our home town. Suddenly he felt something hard
under his foot. It was a knife from Karesuando in the very north of
Sweden, a typical lapponian knife-model. It had been there under
the snow the
whole winter. It was on it´s way to be destroyed, but it still was a very
beautiful peace of work. Jyrki brought it home, cleaned and polished it. He had no sheath to the knife, so Jyrki asked me to make one. So I did, and you can see the result to the left. |
